Nick Hersey, an artist in residence at the Bank Street Arts Project, is using our space in the Crystal Peaks Shopping centre in Sheffield to run a public engagement art project.
In the project, entitled “The Fact Is…” Nick creates genuinely participatory pieces of artwork by asking members of the public to “complete the phrase ["the fact is…"] in whichever way they see fit, as per the opined pub rant or subjective statements that are prefixed with that phrase”. Using these sometimes very personal, sometimes universal statements as a starting point, Nick designs some genuinely arresting pieces of 2D art. It’s a really cool project and is a great example of the participatory and public-orientated work we love to see at 3Space- and just the type of thing that our units make possible.
